Replacing the damaged load-bearing beam
The existing roof beam had severely rotted and begun to fracture, creating a dangerous structural condition. Before removing it, the roof structure was carefully supported with temporary props and raised back to the required level. A new structural beam was then installed and the surrounding framing repaired and reset at the correct height.
Restoring the terrace appearance
After the structural work, Bonum rebuilt the exterior cement-sheet boxing and repaired the plasterboard inside the covered terrace. New render was applied to match the previous finish, and the completed area was repainted so the renewed support integrated with the existing home.
