Bonum's own accepted quotation records show that bathroom prices vary sharply with scope. In our 2025 records, five full bathroom quotations ranged from $15,960 to $28,000 excluding GST, with a median of $26,500 excluding GST. These are historical project comparisons, not a fixed 2026 price list, and they must be adjusted for the current room, selections and site conditions.
A low shower-repair price, a separate toilet renovation and a complete bathroom rebuild are different jobs. A meaningful comparison must first check exactly what is included.
What Bonum's quotation records show
Full bathroom renovation: $15,960–$28,000 ex GST in our 2025 records
The five full bathroom examples covered rooms of different sizes and specifications. Typical work across the group included demolition, wall and floor preparation, shower screed and waterproofing, tiling, fixture installation, sealing and painting. The lowest quotation excluded major fixtures, tiles and direct-pay plumbing and electrical work. This is one reason headline totals cannot be compared without their inclusions.
Bathroom plus separate toilet: $23,810 ex GST historical package example
One accepted 2025 package covered a 2710 x 2580mm bathroom with a 1200 x 750mm shower, plus a separate 1500 x 900mm toilet room. The pre-discount package price was $23,810 excluding GST. It included demolition, substrate make-good, waterproofing, tiling, fixture installation or reinstatement and painting as specified in that quotation.
Shower-focused renovation: $9,320–$9,985 ex GST in our 2025 records
Three shower or partial ensuite examples ranged from $9,320 to $9,985 excluding GST, with a median of $9,385. Depending on the job, shower screens, plumbing, electrical work and client-selected finishes were excluded. These figures describe shower-focused scopes and should not be treated as complete bathroom prices.
Separate toilet renovation: $1,850 ex GST historical example
A 1500 x 900mm toilet-room example included removing and reinstating the existing toilet, removing the floor finish, laying client-supplied floor tiles with a 100mm tiled skirting, and painting the walls, window, trim and door. Broader powder-room packages in our records cost more because they included additional demolition, finishes and installation work.
Current structural shower-floor repair: $5,940 ex GST quoted example
A 2026 quotation for an approximately 1850 x 900mm bathroom and shower floor covered removal of tiles and subfloor, inspection of framing, replacement of up to one joist, a new structural sheet floor, waterproofing at shower and bath junctions, and retiling with client-supplied tiles. This was a repair scope rather than a complete bathroom renovation.
Why bathroom quotations differ
What the owner supplies
Tiles, tapware, bath, toilet, vanity, shower glass and accessories may be supplied by the builder or purchased directly by the owner. A quotation that excludes these items will naturally show a lower total.
Plumbing and electrical work
Some Bonum historical quotations excluded plumbing and electrical work because the client paid those trades directly. Check whether a price includes disconnection, rough-in, fit-off, lighting, ventilation and any movement of services.
Demolition and hidden damage
Rotten framing, damaged subfloor, unsuitable wall lining or old waterproofing problems can become visible only after demolition. Structural repairs and make-good work should be separated from cosmetic selections so the allowance is clear.
Tile coverage and finish detail
Floor-to-ceiling tiling, niches, mitred edges, large-format tiles and detailed layouts require more preparation and labour than a simple tiled floor and shower zone.
How to compare bathroom quotations
Compare demolition and disposal, substrate and framing repairs, waterproofing, tiling labour, tile supply, plumbing, electrical work, shower glass, fixtures, cabinetry, painting and final clean-up. Confirm every client-supplied item and ask how unforeseen work and variations will be handled.
